Sessions remain very colloquial. Chit-chat and chinwags are first port-of-call (shooting through conversation); the photos arise from there.
All sessions are designed to capture the very best of you in a colloquial, laid-back manner – No fuss or stress, just truthful images that show you in your best light.
Each shoot is tailored to the individual client. This is your time in front of the lens, and as such the No.1 Priority is capturing the shots that’ll help progress and support your career going forward.
A little preparation goes a long way – Below are a few things to consider and a bit more info on the shoot itself.

What to expect
The session is your time. Your opportunity to get the best out of your Studio experience.
Rather that fret over the finished result (that’s my job) it’s best to think of the session as a workshop: make sure you’ve done your preparation beforehand (see below) – Approach the session as an opportunity to showcase who you are, and have an openness and willingness to be bravely unguarded(!)
It’s a collaborative process that benefits immensely from the thoughts and feeling of the sitter (you). As the Photographer I can help guide, support, coax and encourage – but this energy has to be reciprocated. So turn up ready and willing to get down to business! See you at the Studio ツ
Regardless of which session you choose, a little preparation goes a long way – do make sure to familiarise yourself with my FAQs. Should you have other specific questions on any of the sessions – get in contact.
Quick discussion (over a cuppa) – regardless of your shoot duration, a brief chat before we start is always a good idea. My studio is also on the top floor, so it’ll give you time to catch your breath! Complimentary tea/coffee/oxygen is available upon request. If you have previously had Headshots taken, we’ll take a look at them on the screen – to see where we’re starting from: why they might not suit your current needs, any specific ideas/thoughts on what you’d like from this session, and opportunity to ask any other questions that you might have. If you haven’t, not to worry – you’re in safe hands!
Please turn up prepped and ready to go. This is your time in the Studio and I’m here to accommodate you, but that time is far better spent in front of the camera than the mirror. That said, a few moments making sure everything looks prim and proper before we start is a must.
Time to unroll your immaculately ironed items of clothing, lay everything out/hang it all up, and talk through a plan of action. Feel free to bring as many items of clothing as you like. We may not use it all, but it’s far more beneficial to bring too much than too little!
Note: More in-depth advice about clothing can be found in the FAQs.
Depending on which session you choose, this will vary slightly. However, the constants of the shoot remain the same. The way I work is to shoot through conversation. The will be positional guidance and direction throughout, but the main aim is to capture the real you. The best way this is done is to chat – so if you’re able to talk, there’s really nothing to worry about!
I won’t be asking you to give me your best rendition of the Romantic Lead, Comedic Best Friend, Scorned Super-Villain or any other stereotypical Archetypes (if this is what you’re looking for from your Photographer, best to look elsewhere!)
I’m convinced actors and agents should give casting directors a little more credit – it’s their job to imagine someone as a particular role (and they’re incredibly skilled at it!) – as an actor, you needn’t be overt in what you’re projecting.
Far more helpful (and altogether more exciting) is to present an interesting and truthful shot of your genuine self – rather than a shot of you ‘acting’ – leave that for the audition room. These truthful shots come from reactionary expressions – through having conversations your genuine self will shine through.
Of course one must be open and receptive during the shoot, and again there’ll be guidance in terms of body/facial positioning, but overall the aim is to capture who you are – not what you can become.
It’s a dating game this acting malarky, always leave them wanting more. Intrigue and a touch of elusivity go a long way.
Everything is digital so there is no need to be precious of burning through film! I shoot a lot in the 2-3hrs you’ll have with me. Headshot Sessions tend to end up with around 1000+ shots on file. Even the most narcissistic clients out there(!) wouldn’t want to sift through that many pictures of their own face – so an initial cull is made, and from there around 200-400 images are uploaded (depending on the session) to your Workflow account. Everything is Colour-Graded first (to give you a feel for the final image) and some are duplicated into B&W as I offer a Portfolio Upgrade which includes both Colour and B&W copies of all edits.
How to choose – show these pictures to friends, family, agents, strangers in the street and unwilling pets. Once you’ve made your decision via Photo Workflow, you’ll receive the retouched images, full frame and cropped to 10×8 within 5-7 working days.
All images remain on file for 12 months, if you’d like to order any others during this period, simply log into your account and purchase them directly from there for £50 each.
Simple symbiosis – as a mutual back scratch, if you spread the word with others and they book in a session, you’ll receive an extra edit of your choosing (for each new client), free of charge – worth £50. Wonderful, job done.
Testimonials

“I had yet another incredible session with Cam. He creates such a relaxed and comfortable environment to have the photos and is so supportive in your choices. The direction and vision he has is brilliant and makes you feel at ease. Cannot recommend him enough.”
Charise Renouf

“Really enjoyed the process with Cam, he’s a joy to work with. After seeing his work I was tempted to book, and this temptation was succumbed to when I realised how good he is at lighting for Asian/POC skin tones. The final products have been great, and he was very helpful, communicative and accommodating throughout the process!”
Romo Sikdar-Rahman

“My session with Cam exceeded expectations and I am thrilled with my headshots. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic photos… you will have a vast variety to choose from. I was really impressed by Cam’s efficiency when I was booking, during and after the session. Worth every penny. Thanks so much!”
Morgan Cambs

“As someone who abhors getting her photo taken, headshots are always a bit stressful for me. When the shots came through (pretty much immediately), I was stunned. They were alive and interesting and very very much… me. Cam is ridiculously easy to work with. He curates an atmosphere that is chill and pressure-free. The results are you at your best, and most YOU. Couldn’t recommend more highly.”
Norma Butikofer

“For first timers or any one just looking to update their shots there is only one name I can think of… Cam Harle. A fantastic photographer who creates a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The results are always brilliant and capture something unique. Cannot sing his praises enough.”
Patrick Strain

“The most relaxed, fun and confident I’ve been in a headshot session and I have done quite a few. Cam captured the most amazing images. He has a very keen eye for detail and ensured that all elements within the headshots were right. I have been cast in so many things because of these stunning headshots. Thanks Cam!”
