Why this matters

Your headshot is your first casting.

Before a director reads your CV or clicks your Spotlight reel, they see one image. A headshot that truly looks like you is one of the simplest ways to start your career on the front foot.

The aim of a session here is straightforward: a calm room, relaxed direction, and space to find the version of yourself that reads on camera — so the image feels like you walking into the audition.

Everything is set up for you. You're guided the whole way. And by the time we finish, you'll have something you're genuinely pleased to put in front of agents and casting directors.

"Working with Cam was a joy. I've been very lucky to have great headshot experiences, but have never felt this excited with the final product. These shots feel and look like me — and I'm especially grateful that Cam was so specific in lighting for my skin tone."

A familiar face at Central

You may have already met me.

I regularly photograph public productions at Central — so if you haven't seen me yet, there's a good chance you will during one of your shows.

I also photograph headshots for the Board of Governors, including its President, Josette Bushell-Mingo — a small reassurance that the work is trusted by people who know the school well.

There's also a resident cat called Rothko who may make an appearance — he occasionally likes to get involved.

Common questions

Before you book.

How do I use my CSSD discount code?
Enter CSSDHEADSHOTS at checkout when booking — the discount is applied automatically.
What should I wear?
Bring as much as you like — when you arrive, we'll lay everything out and decide what works best. Solid colours and different necklines tend to photograph well. If you'd like to run through it beforehand, we can do that on the free Zoom call.
I hate having my photo taken. Will that be a problem?
Most actors feel the same before a session. You're directed the whole way — how to stand, how to hold your face, when to take a breath. The aim is a calm room and a natural image, not a performance.
How long until I get my images?
You'll receive your private gallery to make selections within a few days of the session. Final retouched images come back shortly after your selections are in.
Can I add extra retouched images later?
Yes — additional retouched images are £50 each, and you can add them at any point after the session.
Will the images work for Spotlight and my agent?
Yes. Final images are framed, sized and delivered ready for Spotlight, agents' sites and casting profiles — no extra cropping or resizing needed.
Where exactly is the studio?
Belsize Park, opposite St Peter's Church — a five-minute walk from CSSD, and seven minutes from Belsize Park Underground. Swiss Cottage and Finchley Road are also close by. Full address and directions are sent once your session is confirmed.
